OffToUni was created to support parents and carers navigating the UK university journey, because while there is a wealth of information for students, families are often left piecing things together themselves.
Parents are expected to guide, reassure and advise, all while managing their own questions and anxieties. It’s a complex, emotional process, and one that few feel fully prepared for.
As a parent of four, with one child in their third year at university and twins in their second, I’ve experienced every stage first-hand: the pressure of UCAS deadlines, the sleepless night before results day, the excitement of preparation, and the quiet heartache of move-in day.
Alongside this, my professional background as a Cambridge-educated graduate, qualified teacher, and former Careers and Higher Education Adviser means I understand both the system and the emotional reality behind it. Even with that experience, supporting my own children felt far more challenging than expected.
