Meet Up Tips & Rules

Our meet ups are a way for members to meet other mums for the first time in a small group (no more than 6 members), instead of one to one, they are not intended for large group events. By meeting in a small group it is often easier for mums to integrate with each other. Of course, if members prefer to meet one to one then they have that option as well once they feel sufficiently acquainted via our secure private messaging system.
To keep things simple and avoid the need for insurance, we recommend limiting meet ups to a maximum of six members and only meeting in a cafe, restaurant or pub. These locations already have their own insurance and, as long as members attend as regular customers (without making special bookings or hosting structured events), no additional coverage is needed. Please read Insurance Responsibility below.
MumsMeetUp.com Limited does not organise or oversee meet ups, members arrange them at their own discretion. If you choose to organise a larger gathering with more than six people, meet in a private venue, hired space, or public outdoor area, or arrange an activity such as sports, hiking, or workshops, then you may need to arrange your own public liability insurance to cover potential risks. It is your responsibility as the meet up organiser to check any venue or local authority requirements. MumsMeetUp.com Limited accepts no liability for meet ups arranged between members, and participation is entirely at your own risk.
Any member can start a meet up for mums in their area and invite other mums to attend. It is simple to do and a great way to make new friends.
Yes meet ups are free to arrange and free to attend. No meet up should be organised for financial gain. Members cannot request any payment from other Members to attend a meet up.
There is a simple form to fill out with details of a meet up, which can be changed or deleted at any time.
The meet up organiser can send out messages to other members in their local area inviting them to attend their meet up as well as listing details and updating those details as and when needed.
Any member can request to join a meet up by sending a message to the meet up organiser requesting to join.

Members should take all reasonable and sensible precautions to protect their safety whether arranging or joining a meet up. For safety ideas read our Safety Tips via the link below.
